Dr. Smith is a graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University where she earner a Doctorate of Chiropractic degrees and she also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from St. Cloud State University. She grew up in Champlin and graduated from Champlin Park High School.
She is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) specializing in sports-related injuries including swimming, biking, running, hockey and gymnastics related injuries. She is also a chiropractic acupuncturist, has a certificate in Sports Nutrition, is a certified Graston Technique provider and is a certified RockDoc (Rock Tape provider).
Dr. Smith appreciates the importance of patient education in empowering them to make lifestyle changes to stay active, healthy and to avoid injuries. As a marathon runner, ultramarathon runner and triathlete herself, Dr. Smith’s passion is in working with athletes to overcome overuse injuries and helping them achieve a full and quick recovery. She has extensive post-graduate training in sports nutrition and Functional Medicine as well.
She is a member of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP), the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) and the Minnesota Chiropractic Association Sports Council (MCA Sports Council).
In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, training for the next marathon or triathlon, playing hockey, officiating high school and NCAA hockey and playing golf. You may also find Dr. Smith playing drums or guitar with a local band on the weekends.
Mary Kay Kolb
Office Manager, Reiki Master
Mary Kay Kolb is the office manager of Advanced Wellness & Sports Rehab. She works closely with Dr. Smith's patients to schedule appointments, answer general questions and handle billing and insurance. She really is the backbone of the practice and runs the show!
She lived in Champlin for 22 years, raised her three daughters about 1.5 miles from the office and currently resides in Maple Grove.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with family, walking, traveling, reading, crocheting and crafting.
She is also a Reiki Master and offers this service at the office as well and enjoys using and learning more about essential oils.
